Navitas Energy Inc. was founded in 2001.  As one of the first wind power companies in Minnesota, we continue to be a leader in the industry.  In 2003, Gamesa, a publicly traded Spanish company included in the IBEX35, purchased majority shares in Navitas.  Navitas, as the Great Plains branch of the Gamesa Energy USA development organization, focuses our development in 11 upper Midwest states.  The Gamesa Energy USA corporate headquarters are located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; with additional offices in Illinois and Texas. 

Navitas' first completed wind farm project was the 50.4 megawatt Mendota Hills Wind Farm in Illinois. The Mendota Hills Wind Farm was the first commercial scale wind farm built in the state of Illinois, achieving commercial operation on November 24, 2003. 

Navitas has developed and permitted 1,040 megawatts and our portfolio under development consists of about 1,500 megawatts.
